Love Padlocks
While in Sevilla I noticed padlocks on the Isabel II bridge over the Guadalquivir river. The padlocks had names, initials, or maybe a message written in sharpie. Standing on the bridge, looking at the water; I felt pleasantly happy. I was imagining all these people in love visiting the bridge and standing in the same spot I was. Thinking it was cute and with only an idea of what this was all about; I snapped some pictures to remind myself to look it up when I got home.

The view from bridge is pretty romantic and especially beautiful at night so I can see how this would be THE place for couples. After some searching, the story behind them is that couples attach the engraved padlocks onto the bridge and toss the key into the river. Sweet right? The city of Sevilla cuts off the padlocks every 15 days because of the added weight of the locks on the bridge, but that doesn’t seem to deter people.

A lone lock spotted in Ronda…

A family? Since it would odd to profess enduring padlock love and commitment if you’re in a love triangle…Or maybe it’s a polygamous relationship. No judgement.
